The people who fight wildfires are called "hotshots." Gabriel Mann’s new film gets viewers as close to the fire line as they can get without being an actual hotshot. Mann became fixated with wildfires in 2016, when the Sand Fire burned more than 41,000 acres around Los Angeles. He picked up a camera and embedded with a bunch of hotshots, trying to understand their work, and most of all, fire. You'll have to see his footage to believe it.
